The team, now consisting of 15 professionals, provides a wide range of planning and development consultancy services, including development agency, viability advice, residential development sales consultancy, and site agency services. The firm has also achieved several notable successes in Brighton, including securing planning permission for various housing projects and infrastructure developments.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 24-Nov-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Savills (LON: SVS), one of the world’s leading property advisors, announces that Savills Brighton has recently moved to a new office at Runway East, York & Elder Works, located at 50 New England Street, Brighton. This relocation comes as a result of the firm’s continued growth since opening its Brighton office in 2019, necessitating larger office space to accommodate its expanding team.

The Brighton team, consisting of 15 professionals, offers a wide range of planning and development consultancy services, including development agency, viability advice, residential development sales consultancy, and site agency services. Additionally, the firm boasts a specialized team that handles Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) through the Development Consent Order process, along with services related to Environmental Impact Assessment, Air Quality Assessment, and Noise Impact Assessment.

Situated just a short walk from Brighton train station, the new office occupies the ground floor of L&G’s 18-story York & Elder Private Rented Sector (PRS) scheme, which received planning permission in December 2019. This development includes 201 residential units, as well as ground floor office spaces.

Savills Planning’s presence in Brighton has seen notable successes, including obtaining planning permission for joint venture schemes with the City Council and Hyde Housing, such as Coldean Lane (242 affordable homes) and Wellington Road, Portslade (104 affordable homes). The firm has also secured planning permission and listed building consent for the conversion of the former Blind Veterans UK home at St Dunstans, Ovingdean (64 apartments), and played a key role in the Moulsecoomb Community Hub and Housing scheme, securing planning permission for 212 affordable homes.

Guy Dixon, Head of Office at Savills Brighton, expressed his satisfaction with the move to the new office and highlighted the growth of the local team. We are pleased to have moved into our smart new office and thrilled that our recent successes have meant that we have grown the local team and added specialist skills. We are now very well placed to continue to build on our existing presence in this thriving city and would be pleased to discuss any project which requires planning or development advice.”

Jonathan Steele, Savills Head of Regional Business Development in the South, praised the strength of the Brighton team, which, after four years, outgrew its original office space, necessitating the relocation to the York & Elder building. “It is a testament to the strength of our Brighton team that after four years we have outgrown our original office space and have moved into the York & Elder building. We look forward to delivering more exciting, innovative work in the city.”
