ANDRITZ to Deliver High-Efficiency OCC Line to Papel Prensa in Buenos Aires

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 21-Dec-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ (VIE: ANDR), an international technology group based in Austria, announces that it has secured an order from Papel Prensa S.A. for the delivery of a comprehensive old corrugated containers (OCC) line, complete with a reject handling system, to its mill in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

In its initial phase, the new OCC line will process 180 tonnes per day (t/d) of locally sourced OCC. The line’s configuration is easily adjustable, allowing for potential capacity increases to meet the rising demand for pulp required for corrugated paper production. This state-of-the-art line is designed to deliver high-quality pulp while ensuring cost-efficient and resource-saving operations.

ANDRITZ’s scope of supply includes:

  1. The complete LC pulping system featuring a FibreSolve FSR pulper and an innovative detrashing system to maximize raw material slushing efficiency while minimizing fiber loss.
  2. The protection cleaning, fractionation, and screening stage, including a PrimeScreen X with a newly developed PrimeRotor for high screening efficiency and reduced power consumption.
  3. An innovative reject handling system equipped with a Reject Compactor ReCo to achieve the highest possible dry content for dewatered rejects.
  4. Erection supervision, commissioning, start-up, and training.

The new line is scheduled to commence operation in 2024.

This order further solidifies ANDRITZ’s presence in the South American recycled pulp market.
