ANDRITZ to Supply Norske Skog Skogn with Customized TMP Line for Newsprint Mill

The customized solution provided by ANDRITZ combines both new and secondhand equipment to cater to the specific requirements of the local conditions. The new line will enable Norske Skog Skogn to optimize their raw material mix, reducing variable costs and environmental impact, including NOx emissions, fossil CO2 emissions, and landfilled waste. With a capacity to produce 100,000 tons of thermomechanical pulp per year, the line is set to start operating in the first half of 2024. ANDRITZ will refurbish and upgrade various used machines in addition to supplying new equipment. (PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 7-Jul-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ (VIE: ANDR), an international technology group based in Austria, announces that it has been awarded a contract by Norske Skog Skogn to deliver a thermomechanical pulping (TMP) line for its newsprint mill located in Levanger, Norway. By combining new and secondhand equipment, ANDRITZ will provide a tailored solution that precisely meets the requirements of the local conditions.

The implementation of the new TMP line will enable Norske Skog Skogn to optimize its raw material mix, resulting in reduced variable costs and a decreased environmental footprint. Notably, the new line will contribute to the reduction of NOx emissions, fossil CO2 emissions, and landfilled waste.

Scheduled to commence operations in the first half of 2024, the new line will have a production capacity of 100,000 tons of thermomechanical pulp per year. The project involves refurbishing and upgrading various used machines, which will be integrated with new equipment.

The scope of supply encompasses:

  • New LC refiner, type TF58
  • Refurbishment of pre-treatment equipment
  • Secondhand first stage refiner, type RGP76CD-A, with ANDRITZ control system
  • Refurbishment of secondary stage refiner, type RGP65
