(IN BRIEF) Voith Turbo North America has started a $5 million expansion of its workshop in York, Pennsylvania, to enhance its American manufacturing capabilities. The expansion includes adding 10,000 square feet of space to the existing facility and converting 17,000 square feet of warehouse space into workshop space. This expansion will support the rail industry’s growing needs and transition the workshop’s focus from service-based work to new business manufacturing, particularly for higher volume rail products like gearboxes and couplers. The expansion is expected to create new full-time job opportunities and increase capacity to meet Buy America compliance requirements. Construction is projected to be completed by Spring 2024.
