Voith’s AI-based quality solution earns finalist spot in 2023 Manufacturing Leadership Awards

(IN BRIEF) Voith has been named a finalist for the 2023 Manufacturing Leadership Awards in the category of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The company submitted a project called “Ensuring High Quality Through Analytics – An AI-Based Predictive Quality Solution for a Yarn Manufacturing Line,” which aimed to automate the entire quality inspection process for monofilament yarn for paper machine clothing fabric at its Summerville, South Carolina facility, using PDX, a machine learning and AI-driven, end-to-end software platform from Predictronics. Voith’s use of machine learning-based analytics helped secure real-time, predictive quality information to achieve better productivity. The project submission entitled, “Ensuring High Quality Through Analytics – An AI-Based Predictive Quality Solution for a Yarn Manufacturing Line,” was focused on a predictive quality solution for Voith’s manufacturing lines that produce monofilament yarn for paper machine clothing fabric at the company’s Summerville, S.C. facility. Using machine learning-based analytics, Voith secured real-time, predictive quality information to achieve better productivity.
