Logicor Expands Logistics Portfolio with Acquisition of Greenfield Development in Lelystad, Netherlands

(IN BRIEF) Logicor, a prominent logistics real estate developer, owner, and manager in Europe, has finalized the acquisition of a logistics greenfield development site in Lelystad, Netherlands. The site spans over 61,000 m2 and will host the construction of three modern logistics units totaling approximately 40,000 m2. Logicor’s purchase was part of its strategy to expand its portfolio in high-demand logistics locations. The company secured the site in an off-market deal from RJB Group / DevCo Real Estate, enhancing its flexibility in the development process. The new units will prioritize sustainability, featuring PV panels and medium-term storage for power supply. The site is well-connected near the A6 motorway, Lelystad Airport, and key cities. Planning permission has been granted, and completion is expected in 2024.

(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 30-Aug-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — The site has a total area of over 61,000 m2 on which three modern logistics units with a total area of around 40.000 m2 will be built.

Logicor acquired the new build site from Dutch property development combination RJB Group /  DevCo Real Estate in an off-market transaction. Devco made the sale on behalf of several private investors. The price is undisclosed.

Alexander van Gastel, Director Netherlands and Belgium of Logicor, says:

”The acquisition of this new build development fits perfectly with our strategy of further growing our portfolio in strong logistics locations where demand is persistently high.

“Lelystad is a sought-after location, and because we can step in at an early stage of the project, we have influence over the entire development process. This provides us with maximum flexibility to adapt to the changing needs and preferences for potential users.”

The new build development comprises three separate units designed to target high sustainability standards.  The building will be developed ‘off the grid’ and mainly powered by PV panels with a medium-term storage facility.

The development will be built on the northern edge of the A6 motorway close to Lelystad Airport and just a 20-minute drive from Almere and 40 minutes from Amsterdam and is located 1km from the public bus station and 3km from the train station.

Planning permission has already been granted and completion is scheduled for 2024.

In this transaction, Logicor received technical advice from Savills and legal advice from Houthoff. DLA Piper provided legal advice to the seller.

Logicor owns and manages an extensive network of distribution and last-mile properties in prime areas of the Netherlands and Belgium.
