Thales Adaptive Connect (TAC) Transforms IoT Connectivity with Eseye Partnership

(IN BRIEF) Eseye, a global IoT connectivity solutions provider, has partnered with Thales to enhance IoT devices’ connectivity. They are leveraging Thales’ expertise to implement Thales Adaptive Connect (TAC), a cloud-based solution based on eSIM technology. This solution eliminates the need for manual configuration of IoT devices before deployment, ensuring seamless connectivity from the outset. The collaboration streamlines IoT deployment globally, simplifying operations across various industries and complying with security standards.

(PRESS RELEASE) LA DÉFENCE, 28-Feb-2024 — /EuropaWire/ —  Thales (EPA: HO), a French multinational company active in the aerospace, defence, transportation, security markets and a leading innovator in connectivity management, is proud to announce a strategic collaboration with Eseye, a prominent global IoT connectivity solutions provider, to introduce a groundbreaking connectivity solution for IoT devices. By harnessing Thales’ unparalleled expertise in connectivity management, Eseye aims to streamline and expedite worldwide IoT deployment, guaranteeing seamless connectivity for devices right from their initial activation. Thales Adaptive Connect (TAC), driven by cutting-edge eSIM technology, eradicates the necessity for manual configuration of mobile subscriptions, facilitating automatic connection to the optimal network without requiring field technician intervention.

This strategic collaboration enables Eseye to extend its IoT cellular connectivity services globally while empowering customers to deploy and support major projects in diverse sectors such as smart utilities, supply chains, logistics, and automotive. With TAC, IoT devices can be effortlessly deployed and connected in any region or country without prior configuration, streamlining operations and enhancing efficiency.

TAC facilitates remote management of eSIM automatic configuration, ensuring optimal local connectivity throughout the device’s lifecycle. Additionally, it enables seamless switching between mobile networks remotely, offering flexibility and reliability for diverse IoT use cases. Thales’ solution complies with GSMA eSIM IoT standard SGP.32, ensuring robust security and future-proof capability for massive IoT deployments.

Through Thales’ connectivity offer for eSIM-based devices, Eseye gains the capability to manage end-to-end connectivity seamlessly from the factory to the field, simplifying manufacturing, logistics, and connectivity operations. Adam Hayes, Chief Operating Officer at Eseye, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the platform’s future-proofed eSIM technology and its ability to deliver maximum efficiency and value to enterprise customers. He said, “Eseye are delighted to be partnering with Thales to take forward this leading-edge, innovative new IoT solution. Combining SGP.32 and SGP.41 support will ensure future IoT device deployments can deliver optimum efficiency and value to our customers. Not only do Enterprise customers get a completely future proofed eSIM platform, but it also enables maximum choice of either personalising devices for local mobile networks ahead of deployment or using TAC to do this for them in the field.”

Guillaume Lafaix, VP of Connectivity Solutions and Embedded Products at Thales, highlighted the collaboration’s innovative aspects, including in-factory provisioning (IFPP) for devices, which enhances battery life and reduces field intervention requirements. He added, “Eseye is a dynamic partner with whom we have also worked on a Proof of Concept for customers interested in in-factory provisioning (IFPP) for their devices. This enables profiles to be securely provisioned during the device manufacturing process. For example, a blood sugar monitor device that has been configured at the factory will have a substantially longer battery life since there is no need for an in-field local profile download. This solution, which meets the latest market specifications (SGP.41), retains all of the benefits of an automatic and cost-effective connection to the preferred local network.
