Saab’s Arexis Sensor Suite Preferred for German Eurofighter EW Variant

Saab’s Arexis Sensor Suite Preferred for German Eurofighter EW Variant

(IN BRIEF) Saab’s Arexis sensor suite has been selected as the preferred solution for the German Eurofighter Electronic Warfare (EW) variant by Germany’s defence procurement office (BAAINBw). This follows Germany’s plan to equip 15 Eurofighters for EW missions. Saab’s Arexis was chosen based on a market survey assessing various EW providers. Saab’s modular EW solution incorporates advanced hardware, software, and AI algorithms to excel in complex electromagnetic environments. While a contract has not yet been signed, Saab intends to conduct a significant portion of the work in Germany.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 16-Jun-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Saab AB (STO: SAAB-B), leading company in the military defence and civil security markets, announces that its Arexis sensor suite has been selected as the preferred solution for the German Eurofighter Electronic Warfare (EW) variant by Germany’s defence procurement office (BAAINBw). It is important to note that Saab has not yet finalized a contract or received an order related to this selection.

In the previous year, German officials expressed their intention to equip 15 of the German Air Force’s Eurofighters for EW missions. The decision to proceed with Saab’s Arexis follows a recent market survey conducted by BAAINBw, which evaluated the products offered by European and international EW providers based on criteria such as performance, integration, and certification processes.

“We welcome this decision and look forward to proceeding with the next steps. Arexis is the perfect match for Germany’s electronic warfare requirements for the Eurofighter” says Anders Sjöberg, head of Saab Germany.

As part of Saab’s proposal, a significant portion of the work will be carried out at their facility in Bavaria, Germany, in collaboration with their artificial intelligence partner, Helsing.

Saab’s modular EW solution, Arexis, incorporates cutting-edge hardware and software, including advanced AI algorithms, enabling it to maintain superiority in complex electromagnetic environments.
