(IN BRIEF) Saab has submitted a response to NATO’s Request for Information (RFI) regarding a new generation of surveillance and control capabilities, based on their GlobalEye system. GlobalEye is a multi-domain Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) solution with advanced sensors that can provide long-range detection and identification of objects in air, sea, and land, enabling enhanced situational awareness of surrounding areas and early detection of threats. Saab’s response is part of the Alliance Future Surveillance and Control (AFSC) project, which is defining NATO’s new generation capability. (PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 21-Feb-2023 — /EuropaWire/ —  Saab AB (STO: SAAB-B), leading company in the military defence and civil security markets, announces that it has submitted a response to a Request for Information (RFI) from NATO’s Support and Procurement Agency, which sought proposals for a new generation of surveillance and control capabilities. Saab’s response is based on their GlobalEye system, a multi-domain Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEW&C) solution with advanced sensors that enable long-range detection and identification of objects in air, sea, and land.

The Alliance Future Surveillance and Control (AFSC) project, which is defining NATO’s new generation capability, was the driving force behind the RFI. GlobalEye, with its real-time information provision to military units in air forces, armies, and navies, enhances situational awareness of surrounding areas and enables early detection of threats. This innovative solution also has non-military applications, such as leading and coordinating rescue missions during natural disasters or larger accidents at sea or on land.

Saab’s response to the RFI is a testament to the company’s commitment to developing cutting-edge solutions that are versatile and multi-functional. The GlobalEye system has been developed to meet the complex needs of modern military and non-military operations, and Saab is proud to offer it as a potential solution for NATO’s new generation surveillance and control capabilities.

“Saab is a proven and trusted part of NATO’s defence industrial base and we are present in more than two thirds of the member nations. Our solutions, including GlobalEye, are from the outset developed to be compliant with NATO’s requirements. I am confident that we can contribute with important capabilities that will strengthen NATO and benefit the member countries,” says Carl-Johan Bergholm, head of Saab´s business area Surveillance.
