Lagardère Travel Retail to Elevate Food and Beverage Experience at Varna and Burgas Airports from 2025

(IN BRIEF) Lagardère Travel Retail is set to enhance the food and beverage offerings at Varna and Burgas international airports from 2025 as it takes on the management of the Foodservice Master Concession. This transformation will introduce new concepts from both local and international brands, including the innovative Serial Kitchens Food Hall, Onda Café, Beach Bar, 2GatherKaffe, and Fly Zone, alongside expanding existing McDonald’s and Bricco Pizza outlets. The revamp is scheduled to commence by the end of 2024, with the airports welcoming passengers to state-of-the-art facilities in spring 2025. Lagardère Travel Retail is collaborating closely with Fraport Twin Star Airport Management on this project, aiming to create modern international airports that meet travelers’ evolving needs.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 16-Dec-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Lagardère Travel Retail is proud to announce that it will manage the Foodservice Master Concession at Varna and Burgas international airports, further enhancing the food and beverage offering from 2025.

New concepts from local and international brands will be introduced at the airports, such as Serial Kitchens Food Hall, Onda Café, Beach Bar, 2GatherKaffe and Fly Zone, alongside the expansion of existing McDonald’s and Bricco Pizza outlets. The major transformation of the Food and Beverage retail will start at the end of 2024 to welcome passengers in spring 2025. The Lagardère Travel Retail Bulgaria and Fraport Twin Star Airport Management teams are working closely together to design and transform Varna and Burgas into state-of-the-art international airports.

The new developments include:

The Serial Kitchens Food Hall is a new venue combining the attractiveness and convenience of a food hall with the effectiveness of a dark kitchen. This new concept will not only respond to consumers’ expectations for a seamless in-store journey but also enable significant operational optimization and energy savings.

2Gather Kaffe is a unique place that combines a coffee shop and a bar. It offers a wide range of drinks complemented by a creative food offering that encourages sharing and discovery. Customers in a hurry or looking for a light meal can order sandwiches, bagels, bowls or salads, while those looking for a treat will find irresistible pastries. In the evening, classic and fancy cocktails will be offered together with appetizers to share.

Onda Café is a cozy, efficient coffee and food-to-go concept, specifically designed for travelers. Born in Bulgaria many years ago, the brand offers handcrafted quality coffees, fresh pastries and baked goods adapted to local taste to soothe stressed travelers and pamper their senses.

Bricco Pizza offers pizzas made on the spot in the traditional Italian way, in front of the customer with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It is the perfect place at Burgas Airport for friends or families who want to share and enjoy Italian pizza.

The Beach Bar is a bespoke concept designed for the two Black Sea airports. It is the centerpiece of the Terrace, where customers can enjoy a special selection of wines and beers from the most awarded national and international brands, as well as high quality spirits, cocktails and snacks.
