(PRESS RELEASE) ZUG, 15-Feb-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Siemens AG (ETR: SIE), a German multinational conglomerate and Europe’s largest industrial manufacturing company, announces that Siemens Smart Infrastructure has completed the installation of 200 VersiCharge wallboxes and an intelligent charging management system at the prestigious Infinity building, located in Lisbon, Portugal. The Infinity building, owned by Vanguard Properties, is a landmark residential site known for its digital transformation and commitment to sustainability.

José Cardoso Botelho, CEO of Vanguard Properties, expressed pride in the collaboration with Siemens to create a sustainable building for the future. The integrated EV charging solution, customized by Siemens engineering and software teams in Portugal, enables dynamic and intelligent on-site charging management. Intuitive dashboards provide comprehensive information to building managers, facilitating real-time monitoring of energy consumption and optimization of energy performance.

The VersiCharge wallboxes are strategically distributed across six charging islands on three floors of the building. The energy management system is designed for future integration with renewable energy sources and storage systems, contributing to enhanced energy efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions. Markus Mildner, CEO eMobility at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, emphasized the importance of intelligent load management for sustainable energy systems and grid stability.

As part of the contract, Siemens supplied the highly scalable SICAM Dynamic Load Management (DLM), based on the SICAM A8000 power automation platform. SICAM DLM facilitates communication with chargers, extracts consumption-related information, and offers dynamic charging management algorithms. This future-ready solution supports Portugal’s ambitious plan to deploy 15,000 electric vehicle charging stations by 2025.

The Infinity building, a luxury condominium by Vanguard Properties, is poised to become a landmark in Lisbon’s city center. With 26 floors, 195 apartments, and 352 parking spaces, covering over 50,000 square meters, it exemplifies environmental engineering and sustainability principles.
