Kate Thomson Appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer at bp

(IN BRIEF) bp has named Kate Thomson as its interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) following the recent appointment of Murray Auchincloss as the interim CEO. Kate Thomson, currently serving as bp’s Senior Vice President of Finance for Production & Operations, brings 19 years of experience with the company, including roles such as Group Treasurer and Head of Group Tax. Her deep financial knowledge and leadership within bp’s finance function position her well for the CFO role, where she will play a key role in advancing the company’s strategy. Thomson has previously worked in professional services firms and serves on the boards of various bp Group companies.

She has been with bp for 19 years, previously holding a number of senior financial roles, including group treasurer and head of group tax.
