Skanska to Renovate and Expand DNB Livsforsikring’s Office Building in Trondheim for NOK 673M

(IN BRIEF) Skanska has secured a contract worth NOK 673 million (approximately SEK 660 million) from DNB Livsforsikring AS, via its subsidiary Trondheim Torg AS, for the renovation and expansion of an existing commercial office building in Trondheim, Norway. This project involves both renovation and new construction, with approximately 22,200 square meters in total, including 17,000 square meters of renovation and 5,200 square meters of new office space to be built on top of the existing structure. The project emphasizes environmental sustainability, targeting a 50-60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions during construction compared to a standard materials-built office building and aiming for BREEAM NOR-certification at the “Very Good” level while adhering to the EU’s Taxonomy guidelines. Construction is set to commence in January, with completion expected by December 2026.

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 17-Jan-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Skanska has signed a contract with DNB Livsforsikring AS through their subsidiary Trondheim Torg AS for the renovation and expansion of their existing commercial office building in Trondheim, Norway. The contract is worth NOK 673M, about SEK 660M, which will be included in the Nordic order bookings for the first quarter of 2024.

The building is located in Trondheim’s main square and the project is a combination of renovation and new build. The project totals about 22,200 square meters, of which 17,000 square meters will be renovated and 5,200 square meters of new office space will be built on top of the existing roof.

The project has ambitious climate and environmental targets. The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from the construction phase is estimated to be 50-60% compared to a new office building built using standard materials. The building is aiming for BREEAM NOR-certification level Very Good and will comply with the EU’s Taxonomy.

Construction is expected to start in January of this year and the project will be completed in December 2026.
