(PRESS RELEASE) COPENHAGEN, 4-Apr-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — VELUX Group won a Sustainability Impact to My Enterprise Award for its efforts to reduce scope 1 and 2 CO2 emissions.

The award, which recognises Schneider Electric partners, customers and suppliers for outstanding performance in decarbonising their own operations and that of their customers, was presented at a ceremony in Paris on April 3. In total, Schneider Electric presented 12 awards.

“This award recognises the great team effort made across all VELUX sites to decarbonise our operations and operate a sustainable business. In addition to our own emission reductions, we are leading the way in decarbonising the building sector by procuring low carbon raw materials to manufacture our products.” Fleming Voetmann, Vice President, External Relations & Sustainability, the VELUX Group

Since 2021, VELUX Group has contracted Schneider Electric’s consultancy services to identify and develop initiatives that support VELUX Group’s Carbon Neutral 2030 goals on Scope 1 and 2 emissions. Since 2023, 100% of power consumed by VELUX comes from renewable sources (up from 98.2% in 2022).

“Schneider Electric sees it as a privilege to be selected by VELUX as a partner for supporting the climate journey of VELUX to achieve climate goals defined by VELUX on Scope 1 and 2 to be achieved by 2030”,  says Thomas Träger, Country President, Schneider Electric Denmark

In 2023, VELUX achieved 100% documented renewable electricity (wind and solar) across the VELUX Group through “Guarantee of Origin certificates” provided via solar PV renewable power purchase agreements, onsite solar PV plants and the purchase of renewable electricity certificates to cover minor remaining consumption outside Europe.
