University Choir’s Festive Musical Extravaganza at Cope Auditorium on December 6

(IN BRIEF) Join the University Choir and LSU Classical musicians for a festive evening of music at Cope Auditorium on December 6th at 7:30 pm. The concert, conducted by Eleanor Graff-Baker and featuring Handel’s ‘Messiah (Part One)’, Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols,’ and Elgar’s ‘The Snow,’ promises a delightful start to the holiday season. (PRESS RELEASE) LOUGHBOROUGH, 28-Nov-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — The event is on 6 December, 7.30pm at the Cope Auditorium and tickets are £7 or £5 for students and under 16’s.

Eleanor Graff-Baker will conduct the Choir with accompanist Elizabeth Paling.

The concert will feature Handel’s ‘Messiah (Part One)’, Britten’s ‘A Ceremony of Carols’ and Elgar’s ‘The Snow’.

December is a busy month for the Choir as they are taking part in several University events. Members will help lead the singing at the University Carol Service in Martin Hall on 4 December from 3pm-4pm. On 13 December they are participating in a seasonal sing at Pilkington Library from 12.30pm-1.30pm and they will also be part of Christmas in the Wood at Burleigh Wood from 2pm-3.30pm.

The University Choir is open to students, staff and members of the public (age 16+). In addition to weekly practices the Choir gives several public performances a year, including Christmas and Spring concerts. New members, including students, are welcome to join the Choir in the new year.

Accessibility

Cope Auditorium has step-free access and there is an accessible toilet in the main foyer. The auditorium has wheelchair user spaces in the flat floor seating area and is fitted with an induction (hearing) loop. Wheelchair users may bring a carer with them at no extra cost – please select a wheelchair ticket and a wheelchair carer ticket. A wheelchair carer ticket will not be valid on its own.

Parking

Visitors are now required to register their vehicle and pay to park on campus, including outside Cope Auditorium. There is a flat evening rate of £1 after 6pm.
