(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 29-Jun-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — National Westminster Bank (NatWest), the largest bank for UK businesses, is delighted to announce its inclusion in the prestigious Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality list. This marks our consistent presence on the list since its establishment in 2006.

At NatWest, we are deeply committed to fostering a culture that provides equal opportunities for all. Building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace is fundamental to fulfilling our purpose. We are thrilled that our dedication to this cause has been acknowledged through our inclusion in the Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality list, a distinction we are proud to have received over the years.

The Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality list is curated by Business in the Community, a renowned business network. It serves as the highest-profile recognition of employers leading the charge in promoting gender equality in the workplace within the United Kingdom. Employers on this list undergo assessment across various aspects that influence gender equality, including transparent pay practices, family-friendly policies, and support for flexible working arrangements. The competition for inclusion in this year’s list was the most intense in BITC history, with a record number of applications.

David Lindberg, CEO, Retail Banking, and our Executive Sponsor for gender equality said: “This is great recognition of the progress we’re making when it comes to gender equality – and it wouldn’t be possible without the underlying culture change that’s accompanied our policy improvements. We all have a part to play in achieving gender equality. We’re not there yet, but we’re on the journey together, supporting each other through the highs and lows – and that’s something we can all take pride in.”

Our Chief People and Transformation Officer, Jen Tippin, added “I feel incredibly proud of our inclusion in the TT50. It shows that the major, industry-leading steps we’ve taken, like our new Partner Leave policy, alongside small changes like ensuring we have diverse interview panels, are really starting to make a positive difference. Despite this, there’s still more we can do, and we’ll keep on listening and taking action to reach the targets we’ve set and create a safe, happy and healthy environment for everyone.”

The TT50 list will be showcased in the print edition of The Times on June 29th and will also be featured in a digital supplement on The Times website (accessible without a paywall) as well as the BITC site.

NatWest is proud to be part of this esteemed list, which recognizes our ongoing efforts to champion gender equality in the workplace. We remain dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive and succeed.
