DNV Receives Global Carbon Council Accreditation for GHG Emission Reduction Validation and Verification

(IN BRIEF) DNV has achieved accreditation from the Global Carbon Council (GCC) as one of 14 approved verifiers. This accreditation enables DNV to provide validation and verification services for businesses engaged in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction projects aligned with the GCC program. The GCC is a voluntary carbon offsetting initiative aimed at assisting organizations in reducing their carbon footprints, promoting low-carbon pathways, and driving climate actions. DNV’s accreditation positions it to support a broader range of companies committed to ambitious decarbonization efforts, as climate-positive actions and GHG emission reduction projects become increasingly vital for organizations worldwide. DNV also holds accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) for GHG emission reduction project validation and verification.

(PRESS RELEASE) HØVIK, 12-Dec-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — As one of 14 GCC approved verifiers, DNV can now deliver validation and verification services for businesses whose GHG emissions reduction projects are developed in line with the GCC scheme.

In a ceremony that took place on Sunday 10 December at COP28, the world’s largest annual climate conference, Geir Fuglerud, CEO of Supply Chain & Product Assurance at DNV received the certificate on behalf of DNV.

The Global Carbon Council (GCC) is a voluntary carbon offsetting program that aims to assist organizations to reduce their carbon footprints, help sectoral economy to diversify by adopting low-carbon pathways, and catalyse climate actions on ground.

DNV is also accredited by National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies (NABCB) against ISO 14065 and ISO 17029 to carry out validation and verification of GHG emission reduction projects based on ISO 14064-2 and the Voluntary Carbon Scheme (VCS).
