Skanska invests EUR 46 M in Green Court Bucharest office project in Bucharest, Romania

7-3-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Skanska invests EUR 46 M, about SEK 397 M, in the first building of Green Court Bucharest office project located in Bucharest, Romania. The investment comprises of project phase I and the garage for phase II. The construction contract is worth EUR 36 M, about SEK 310 M. The investment as well as the construction is carried out by Skanska Commercial Development, through its subsidiaries Skanska Property Romania and Skanska Construction Romania. Order booking and revenue for the construction contract will be recognized in the construction stream for the first quarter 2013.

The first phase will comprise of about 19,500 square meters plus underground garage. The office scheme will consist of three class A buildings. The total leasable area of the complex will be around 52,000 square meters, with twelve stories above ground level and three stories underground.

Green Court Bucharest will feature a number of sustainable solutions to minimize the building’s environmental footprint and significantly reduce its operating costs. The project will apply for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification at Gold level.

Construction is due to start in the first quarter of 2013 and completion of the project is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2014.
