Basildon, UK, 9-7-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — CNH Industrial N.V. (NYSE: CNHI / MI: CNHI) reinforces its commitment to alternative and sustainable drive systems at NGV 2014, the most important European event dedicated to the promotion of natural gas. Organised annually by the Natural & Bio Gas Vehicle Association (NGVA Europe), this edition takes place at the Brussels Kart Expo in Belgium from July 7th – 10th. Representatives from EU institutions, professionals from the industrial and automotive sectors, transport and logistics operators and other stakeholders will take part in exhibitions, workshops, test drives and other activities related to natural gas technologies throughout this four day series.

As a European leader in natural gas vehicles and solution technologies, CNH Industrial is a proud Gold Sponsor of NGV 2014 and the Exclusive Transport Provider of the event. The Group is present with a stand located in Hall One (Stand D1).

On the stand, visitors can learn more about the accomplishments that CNH Industrial brands have made in the field of natural gas technologies to date. Powertrain brand FPT Industrial, a worldwide leader in the development and production of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) engines for over 25 years, is displaying its latest NEF and Cursor natural gas engines with state-of-the-art propellers adopted by companies around the globe. These engines give life to the two vehicles also on display by Iveco, the CNH Industrial brand dedicated to trucks: a Stralis Natural Power LNG truck from the brand’s heavy range that runs on Liquefied Natural Gas and a New Daily CNG, the brand’s latest light commercial vehicle

A series of interactive features on the stand give further insight into the Company’s work in the field. Videos and informational displays highlight efforts made by FPT Industrial on the engine side as well as on the application side by agricultural machinery brands New Holland Agriculture and Steyr, trucks brand Iveco and bus and coach brand Iveco Bus. As a result, the stand demonstrates the combined efforts of the participating CNH Industrial brands to provide sustainable solutions for all of the industrial sectors where the Group is active, from agriculture to transportation and construction.

A comprehensive presence at NGV 2014

In addition to the stand, CNH Industrial is the Exclusive Transport Provider for the NGV 2014 fair, accompanying guests with a shuttle service from the centre of Brussels to the Expo in an Iveco Bus Citelis 12m CNG which runs on Biogas. In addition, an Iveco Bus Magelys Pro 12.2m tourism coach will be used to transport participants of the Study Tour activity which will take them through the various operational stages of a natural gas vehicle from the refuelling station to following its specific missions through the city of Brussels.

Several workshops discussing natural gas themes are also being held throughout NGV 2014. Michele Ziosi, Head of Institutional Relations for CNH Industrial in EMEA, is a keynote speaker at the “Successful Policies” Workshop. Other workshops will see technical representatives from CNH Industrial discuss the latest natural gas technologies being developed by Group brands.

Also separate from the stand are several other CNH Industrial brand vehicles which are prominently displayed for the occasion. An Iveco Stralis LNG will be displayed outside of the EU Commissioners’ Breakfast and will also be available for test drives during the event and an Iveco Bus Crealis 18m CNG is on display on the exterior premises.

CNH Industrial brands: leaders in alternative fuel technology

Together at NGV 2014, FPT Industrial, Iveco, Iveco Bus, New Holland Agriculture and Steyr represent key advancements for the Group’s development of natural gas solutions. With 25 years of experience and more than 22,000 CNG engines sold to intercompany and external customers, FPT Industrial has the broadest engine range on the market. The present possible technologies which can be adopted for the development of CNG engines mainly include: stoichiometric combustion, lean burn or dual-fuel CNG diesel. Since the beginning, FPT has chosen stoichiometric combustion, the only viable and cost-efficient solution available today that meets Euro VI emission levels.

With over 4,000 CNG engine models, FPT Industrial is the European leader in its sector, offering a wide range of Natural Gas engines for commercial vehicles, buses, and specialty vehicles which are compliant with Euro VI regulations.

Iveco and Iveco Bus confirm leadership in alternative fuel technology by offering FPT Industrial natural gas engines throughout their entire product ranges. Because of this, the brands are the European leaders in the field of natural gas vehicles, having sold 12,000 (7,000 commercial vehicles
and 5,000 buses) as of year-end 2013.

Iveco has in fact long embraced natural gas solutions, especially for transport missions in sectors such as distribution, short and medium-long range logistics and municipal services, such as waste collection and transportation. The first units of the Iveco Stralis Natural Power Euro VI, the new heavy range of natural gas-powered vehicles launched by Iveco, have already been deployed to European customers.

New Holland Agriculture first introduced its T6.140 Methane Power prototype in 2013, which is currently in the testing phase. This tractor represents a key step towards the Energy Independent Farm concept that centres on the ability of farms to produce energy from natural sources, in this case from biomass that have a low environmental impact. This in turn will then power agricultural machines and the farm itself.

Steyr is also actively working on a concept for the use of natural gas technologies in its agricultural equipment. The Steyr Profi Natural Power is equipped with a turbocharged mono-fuel CNG engine from FPT Industrial.
