(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 19-Feb-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Burberry announces the opening of its new Centre for Manufacturing Excellence located at its Castleford site in Yorkshire. The new training facility aims to cultivate talent and protect the traditional, artisanal skills that underpin Yorkshire’s textile industry.
Burberry partners with the UK Fashion and Textile Association to provide a bespoke suite of training opportunities for Burberry’s manufacturing teams as well as enabling new routes into its industry for the local community.
Burberry, VP Internal Manufacturing, Lise Edwards-Warrener commented: “We have created some of our most iconic products in Castleford for over 50 years. We firmly believe in protecting artisanal skills, nurturing talent and investing in British fashion manufacturing through programmes including the Burberry Centre for Manufacturing Excellence.”
