BLIX acquisition strengthens AFRY’s position as a global leader in clean energy transition

(IN BRIEF) AFRY, a Swedish engineering and design company, has acquired Dutch renewable energy consultancy firm BLIX to expand its presence and expertise in the wind energy industry. BLIX specializes in renewable energy solutions and has a strong position in the offshore and onshore wind energy market with offices in Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. With the acquisition, AFRY will be able to enhance its competence and consulting service offerings in the offshore and onshore wind sector, covering the entire project life cycle from early strategy to execution and operation. BLIX has annual net sales of approximately 50 MSEK and 25 employees, and the acquisition will be consolidated into AFRY as of March 2023.

(PRESS RELEASE) SOLNA, 16-Feb-2023 — /EuropaWire/ —  AFRY (STO: AF-B), Swedish-Finnish engineering, consulting and design company active in energy, industry, infrastructure and IT, has announced the acquisition of BLIX, a Dutch-based independent consultancy firm specialized in renewable energy solutions. The move is part of AFRY’s strategy to become a global leader in the clean energy transition and to expand its presence and expertise in the wind energy industry.

BLIX has a strong position in the offshore and onshore wind energy market and operates locally and globally through its offices in Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea. By joining forces with BLIX, AFRY enhances its competence and consulting service offerings in the offshore and onshore wind sector and will be able to cover the entire project life cycle from the early strategy phase to the execution and operation of the wind farm.

The new team will complement AFRY’s international pool of experts in renewable energy and further expand the broad range of services and solutions to foster decarbonization and enable the achievement of net-zero emissions.
