AFRY: Efterklang wins Red Dot Design Award with the audio universe project for Storytel

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the biggest design competitions in the world. In three disciplines, participants submit products, communication projects and brands as well as prototypes and concepts. The distinction Red Dot is an internationally recognized seal of excellent design.

Efterklang is awarded with ‘Best of the Best’ in the Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design 2021. The winning project is the audio universe for Storytel, a world leading audiobook streaming service with over a million paying subscribers globally.

In 2019, Storytel reshaped their visual profile and tonality of their brand. As Storytel’s main goal is to provide audio services, a defined audio brand was a natural next step in the re-branding process. Efterklang was assigned to create an audio branding universe that would convey the Storytel brand and its services. The audio brand had to fit Storytel’s global presence with consideration given to different cultures, languages and music traditions.

“To focus on our sound logo and our audio branding universe has been a natural step in Storytel’s brand development. Communicating emotions through sound is the core of our product and we are very proud of our collaboration with Efterklang and the work they have done to create a multisensory brand experience”, says Kajsa Berthammar, Head of Brand & Campaigns at Storytel.
