The bank has just signed an agreement with the university, which will help the existing professorship at the University of Zurich’s Department of Economics expand further its research activities. The Credit Suisse donation itself will expand the bank’s multifaceted commitment to strengthening Switzerland as a location for education and research.
The bank supports Switzerland as a location for education and research in many different ways. Through its donation to the University of Zurich, the bank will expand its research activities in the areas of corporate culture, business ethics and social responsibility. The existing professorship, staffed by Professor Roberto Weber, is now going to be supported over a period of ten years by a CHF 3 million donation from Credit Suisse. Considered one of the world’s leading researchers in Behavioral Economics, Prof Roberto Weber is with the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich since 2001.
The agreement between both entities is in full compliance with the existing standards of the University of Zurich for guaranteeing the independence of research when it comes to donations and sponsorships.
