Setra Group’s cross-laminated timber production line in Sweden to benefit from ANDRITZ Universal Shredder FRP

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, Austria, 24-Feb-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ to supply a Universal Shredder FRP for Setra Group’s cross-laminated timber (CLT) production line in Långshyttan, Sweden.

The type 2000P FRP shredder will be used to shred the rejects from the production process. A special cutting technology is required to handle very solid and hard laminated wood. The Universal Shredder FRP is furnished with a so-called CoverCross system with overlapping knives, making it capable of processing up to four tons of wood rejects per hour. It is the perfect machine to master this challenge, and guarantees uniform breakdown of the input material. Its rotor also rotates continuously to ensure high throughput and maximum efficiency. The transaction also includes the input hopper.

Setra Group is one of Sweden’s largest wood product companies. The company operates eight sawmills and three processing facilities. It sources raw materials from responsibly managed forests and offers climate-friendly products and solutions for the building and furniture/interiors industries in the global market. Setra Group has about 800 employees.
