Lemminkäinen’s Swedish construction company Rekab to build SPA in Umeå, Sweeden

2-7-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Swedish construction company Rekab, which is part of the Lemminkäinen Group, has signed an agreement with the city of Umeå on the construction of a new spa in the city centre. Work will begin immediately and is scheduled for completion in December 2015. The contract value is approximately EUR 45 million.

The new spa will have several pools for different uses and other necessary premises, such as dressing rooms, a café, a gym and technical facilities. In addition, Rekab will build a parking facility in connection to the spa, demolish the old technical facilities and renovate the facade of the current gymnastics hall.

“We are extremely pleased to be involved in this demanding city-centre project. The construction work must be organised in a way that does not disturb the everyday life around the construction site. We have a lot of experience on similar projects, and previously, we have built an experience spa in Sundsvall,” says Henrik Eklund, Executive Vice President, at Lemminkäinen.
