JYSK continues to support Save the Children Denmark on the project Work2Learn in Bangladesh

4-4-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — For four years JYSK has cooperated with Save the Children Denmark on the project Work2Learn in Bangladesh. JYSK continues the support in 2013 – now as a business partner.

JYSK has for the last four years cooperated with Save the Children Denmark on the development of the project Work2Learn, which strives to create a better future for underprivileged, Bangladeshi children and adolescents.

»JYSK has been actively engaged in the work with Work2Learn, and since the country is in a developmental phase, it is part of our strategy to support Save the Children and the project. That is why we continue supporting Work2Learn – now as a business partner to Save the Children,« says Communications & CSR Director at JYSK, Jonas Schrøder.

A joint responsibility
As a business partner JYSK donates a larger amount of money to Save the Children Denmark. Among other things, the money goes to the Work2Learn project, which is a joint responsibility that is carried out by support and engagement from the cooperation between local authorities, Scandinavian companies and educational institutions.

»The support from, among others, JYSK has a significant signalling effect. The more we shout – especially with support from large, international companies like JYSK – the more we are being heard. The frames are set – a sustainable model is developed – now we can begin to think long-term,« says Head of CSR Partnerships at Save the Children Denmark Camilla Erika Lerberg.

Work2Learn provides Bangladeshi children and adolescents with the opportunity of getting a vocational education that combines a nine-month school period with a three-month practical course at factories in the capital of Dhaka.
