Auchan France awarded the Trophée de la Diversité

On 26 September Auchan France was awarded the Trophée de la Diversité. This prize marked a recognition of the company’s efforts to mobilise its workforce to celebrate 20 years of commitment to helping people with disabilities.

france, 02-10-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — In 2013, Auchan celebrates the 20th anniversary of the first agreement it signed to provide support for people with disabilities. This anniversary, which is being celebrated throughout the year, highlights all of the actions taken to promote the integration and retention of employees with disabilities, and is supported by 126 store managers representing every single Auchan site in France. Events include a wheelchair basketball tournament, partnerships with the Trisomie 21 association and the Heart and Arteries Foundation, plus an in‑house campaign to raise awareness… A vast majority of our staff have been involved in these various initiatives.

In recognition of its efforts, on 26 September Auchan was presented with the “Stakeholder Commitment and Involvement” Trophy at the 8th edition of the Trophées de la Diversité , organised by Diversity Conseil. These Trophies reward companies that position diversity at the heart of their growth, their HR approach and their managerial style. Around fifty job applications were examined individually by members of the panel, who analysed the quality of the way in which applications were processed, before giving their verdict on the companies nominated and declaring the winners of the 2013 awards. A total of 11 companies received prizes.
