ANDRITZ Supplies Fiber Preparation Line for KEAS’ MDF Production at Balikesir Mill

(IN BRIEF) KEAS, the largest wood panel producer in Türkiye, has successfully started operations of its new fiber preparation line for Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) production at its Balikesir mill. Supplied by ANDRITZ, the line has a capacity of 60 tons per hour and features a pressurized refining system for efficient energy consumption. KEAS specializes in wood-based panel production for various industries and is part of Hayat Holding.

(KEAS), the largest wood panel producer in Türkiye, has successfully commenced operations of its new fiber preparation line for Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) production at its Balikesir mill. The new line, supplied by ANDRITZ, marks another milestone in KEAS’ expansion efforts.

With a capacity of 60 tons per hour, the new fiber preparation line processes pine, beech, and oak wood. Its core component is the pressurized refining system, featuring a 24″ plug screw feeder and a high-capacity S2070M refiner. The plug screw feeder’s exceptional dewatering efficiency prior to the high-pressure zone ensures low consumption of thermal and electrical energy, a key advantage of the ANDRITZ pressurized refining system.

In addition to the pressurized refining system, ANDRITZ supplied a gravity-fed HQ-Chipper, a chip bin discharger, and a digester as part of their scope. The company also provided mechanical installation supervision and supported the start-up process.
