(IN BRIEF) Technology group ANDRITZ has won an order from Billerud AB, a Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer, to supply a flue gas treatment system for its Gruvön mill. The new system will enable the mill to increase the capacity of its soda recovery boiler by over 30%, while reducing emissions, and keeping particulate matter emissions well below 15 mg/Nm3. ANDRITZ will supply an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) with switched integrated rectifier technology (SIR), which will be installed in addition to the two existing ESPs. The recovered soda will be reused in the pulp manufacturing process. The handover is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 11-Apr-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ (VIE: ANDR), an international technology group based in Austria, has been awarded an order by Billerud AB, a Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer, to provide a flue gas treatment system for its Gruvön mill. The system will increase the mill’s output of soda recovery boiler while also reducing emissions, with the recovered soda being reused in the pulp manufacturing process.

To ensure maximum operational efficiency, ANDRITZ will supply an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) with switched integrated rectifier technology (SIR), a proven solution that has helped the company win more than 20 ESP lines since integrating it into its portfolio in 2021.

The new precipitator will complement the two existing ESPs, enabling the Gruvön mill to increase its soda recovery boiler capacity by over 30% while keeping particulate matter emissions well below 15 mg/Nm3. The ESP solution from ANDRITZ will enable the mill to continue its profitable operations while complying with strict local environmental regulations.

ANDRITZ’s scope of work includes all auxiliaries for ESP connection, as well as mechanical erection, insulation, supervision of construction, and commissioning. The handover is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.
