(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 9-May-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ (VIE: ANDR), an international technology group based in Austria, will showcase its wide range of proven and new technologies and services for the wood industry at LIGNA 2023, to be held in Hanover, Germany from May 15 to 19. The theme for this year’s event is “Building the Future Together,” and ANDRITZ will highlight its innovative technologies that enable customers to reduce energy, water and raw material usage, production costs, and enhance product quality.

The company will showcase several key innovations at the event, including the ANDRITZ autonomous logyard crane, which is the world’s first crane to feature AI technology, Metris ANDITM. This innovative crane helps in environmentally friendly, cost-effective operation of log handling, and detailed tracking and classification of wood received in real-time. The electrically powered crane emits zero CO2 emissions and reduces noise pollution.

Another highlight of ANDRITZ’s exhibition is the PM30-6 pellet mill, a high-performance pellet mill specifically designed for biomass. The patented feed system and optimized die speed of this mill produce high-quality pellets, leading to reduced maintenance costs and increased capacity.

The company will also showcase the adjustable plug screw feeder, featuring state-of-the-art performance control that enables the use of dry and wet wood based on a unique adjustable design. This design allows for the adjustment of compression to the moisture content of the fibers to optimize water removal in the plug screw feeder area, reducing energy costs and CO2 emissions.

ANDRITZ will showcase its products and solutions at two booths: Hall 25, booth K66 for sawmill and biomass processing technologies and Hall 26, booth D27 for fiberboard production. The sawmill products include debarking and chipping equipment, while biomass processing technologies range from single equipment to complete plant solutions, including wet milling, drying, fine milling, and pelleting. The front-end packages or single equipment for fiberboard production range from wood processing to wastewater evaporation. The company will also showcase its advanced digitalization solutions and lifecycle service solutions.
