Amey Awarded Standard for Collaborative Working

13-2-2013 — /europawire.eu/ —  Amey has achieved BS 11000 certification, a national standard of excellence, for collaborative business relationships across its rail business.

The standard recognises Amey’s collaborative business relationship management system for customers in the rail sector, providing services including track renewals, consulting and design and maintenance services.

BS 11000 is a relatively new British Standard, adopted by Network Rail to improve collaborative project delivery. It provides a framework for collaborative business relationships, which enables the application of best practice principles for any joint project.

Andy Milner, Managing Director for Consulting and Rail at Amey, said: “We are delighted to have achieved independent validation of our relationship programme.

“Working collaboratively with our key stakeholders including clients and suppliers will help us achieve further efficiencies. It marks our ability to offer a seamless approach to delivery for our customers, providing good value for money and benefitting everyone who uses our services and products.”

An assessment of Amey’s approach to the development of the BS 11000 management system was praised in a report from the British Standards Institution (BSI). After achieving Phase 1 of the standard, the report made a formal recommendation for Amey to move forward to Phase 2 of the certification process, which has now been achieved.
