ABLV Charitable Foundation Christmas Charitable Campaign: donate to the “New Riga” programme

Riga, Latvia, 07-Dec-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — For the tenth year in a row, in collaboration with ABLV Bank, the ABLV Charitable Foundation is organising a Christmas Charitable Campaign in which everyone, who cares about the Foundation’s goals and who wants to help attain them, is invited to take part. This year’s charitable campaign will take place from 1 to 31 December.

By taking part in the charitable campaign and making a donation to the “New Riga” programme, you will have the chance to become a supporter of the implementation of the first ever charitable project to be implemented in Latvia on such a scale. It is planned that the foundation stone for the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art building within the New Hanza territory will be laid in the autumn of 2018. The ABLV Charitable Foundation is the co-founder of the privately-funded initiative to build the Latvian Museum of Contemporary Art, which is envisaged as a popular public meeting place where people come in search of inspiration and new knowledge, for self-reflection and to swap experiences.

At the same time, work implemented in order to improve the urban environment under the auspices of the “New Riga” programme will continue, making Riga even more attractive, convenient and accessible for the city’s residents and visitors. This year, Riga’s urban environment was augmented with a new leisure spot for families with children – the playground and art object known as the “Labyrinth” next to Riga Cathedral, while last year the fountain adjoining Riga Congress Hall in Kronvalda Park underwent a contemporary makeover. You can find out more about the results of our work in the realm of the “Urban Environment” here.

In addition, this year, we are once again inviting you to make donations to the Foundation’s well-known charitable programmes: “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” and “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!”

The objective of the programme “Let’s Help Them to Hear!” is to support the development and social integration of children with hearing problems by gifting the very latest digital hearing aids to those children whose families cannot afford to buy these devices. Thanks to your donations, to date together we have helped 400 children to hear better. You can study the results of our work here.

The goal of the programme “Let’s Help Them to Grow Up!” is to foster the development of socially vulnerable children living in Latvia and their integration into society, providing them with support in the form of the opportunity to attend educational camps. To date, your contributions have made it possible for 5,565 kids to attend 184 camps throughout Latvia. To view the results of our work this year, click here.
