Foundation Scotland: Langhope Rig Community Fund now accepts applications

GLASGOW, 01-Nov-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Community groups running projects and services within the community council areas of Ettrick & Yarrow, Lilliesleaf, Ashkirk & Midlem and Borthwick Water & Upper Teviotdale can at last apply for grants again from the Langhope Rig Community Fund.

The Fund has been closed since the last grants were awarded in May 2015. Ownership of the project has changed to EFS Anemoi UK Ltd and Foundation Scotland has been appointed to administer it. Because of the delays in opening the Fund, two years’ worth of funds are now available for distribution, totalling just over £83,000.

A spokesperson for EFS Anemoi said,”We are delighted that the Fund can open again so local community groups and charities can apply for grants. The Fund exists to provide much needed financial help to local good causes and we are very keen to see funds helping projects succeed. So we would encourage groups to apply in time for the deadline of 13th January 2017.”

Gordon Harrison, Chair of Ettrick and Yarrow Council, one of the areas that benefits from the fund said, ‘We are delighted that Foundation Scotland have re-opened the Langhope Rig Community Benefit Fund and very pleased to see that over £80,000 will be available this year for projects that will help our communities. The Fund has already assisted several projects which have improved the lives of people living in our area. We are confident community groups will be able to come up with many creative ideas that will further benefit our communities.’
