(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 8-Feb-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — On Wednesday, 8th February, Paris 2024 unveiled the look of the Games and the pictograms of the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines in a star-studded event attended by Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024, Emmanuel Grégoire, First Deputy Mayor of Paris, Laurent Mazaury, Sports Vice-President of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Julie Matikhine, Brand Director of Paris 2024, and Jérôme Fernandez, a former international handball player and double Olympic champion.
With only a year and a half until the games begin, athletes and fans from all over the world will now be able to get a glimpse of what the Games will look like, from the competition venues, to the host cities, to the celebration sites. The unveiled look showcases elegance, creativity, and the “French art de vivre” and conveys the innovative and bold ambition of Paris 2024.
The 62 pictograms of the Olympic and Paralympic disciplines also embody this creative ambition, as they are stylistically represented in the form of coats of arms, a unique innovation that celebrates the diverse sporting communities. These pictograms will make their first appearance in mid-February on the Olympic Games ticketing website during the sale of “Make Your Games” packs.
