Siemens launches a Critical Infrastructure Defense Center in Canada to address the rise of cyberattacks due to the unprecedented growth in digitalization

(PRESS RELEASE) ZUG, 1-Apr-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — Siemens AG (ETR: SIE), a German multinational conglomerate, has announced the launch of a Critical Infrastructure Defense Center (CIDC) in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada in response to the rise of cyberattacks due to the unprecedented growth in digitalization. The center is the first facility of its kind in the Siemens realm dedicated to Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) focused on Operations Technology (OT). The center will provide services from advisory to managed and research services, with a mission to secure the advancement of a decarbonizing digital world. The team of cyber experts based in Fredericton will support cyber and physical security needs of Canada as well as projects in the US, Europe and the Middle East.
