(PRESS RELEASE) BILBAO, 19-May-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Garanti BBVA has received three major distinctions at the Global Finance World’s Best Investment Banks 2026 Awards, reinforcing the bank’s position as one of the leading investment banking institutions in Central and Eastern Europe.

The awards, presented as part of Global Finance’s “World’s Best Investment Banks 2026: Central & Eastern Europe” programme, recognised the bank’s performance during 2025 across several investment banking categories. Garanti BBVA was named Best Debt Capital Markets Bank, Best Infrastructure Finance Bank and Best Investment Bank in Türkiye.

The recognition reflects the bank’s strong performance in debt capital markets, structured finance and infrastructure-related transactions, alongside its ability to maintain close engagement with international investors and execute large-scale financing operations successfully.

According to the bank, investor demand for Garanti BBVA’s debt issuances remained particularly strong throughout 2025. A $500 million Tier 2 issuance attracted nearly $2 billion in investor demand, while a later $700 million issuance generated approximately $1.8 billion in interest. The transactions achieved significant oversubscription levels, underlining continued international investor appetite for the bank’s financing instruments.

Garanti BBVA also expanded its role in major infrastructure and industrial financing projects during the year, participating as a key lender in around 20 transactions across the energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors. The bank provided approximately $890 million in financing through these projects.

Sinem Edige, Executive Vice President of Garanti BBVA, said the awards reflect both the bank’s expertise in investment banking and the strength of its long-term relationships with global investors. She noted that the institution continues to focus on developing financing structures tailored to clients’ needs while supporting sustainable value creation and strengthening Türkiye’s position in international financial markets.

The awards also highlight the growing role of Turkish financial institutions within regional and international capital markets at a time when demand for infrastructure financing, structured debt solutions and cross-border investment banking services continues to expand across Central and Eastern Europe.

Global Finance’s annual investment banking awards evaluate institutions based on transaction performance, market presence, innovation, client service and strategic growth across regional and global financial markets.
