(IN BRIEF) In a significant development, Saab has been awarded a contract worth SEK 579 million by the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to bolster the operational capabilities of Gripen C/D fighter aircraft. This contract encompasses the design of new development and simulation environments, the development of support systems for harmonizing Gripen C/D and Gripen E, and supplementary orders for essential equipment. The upgrade aims to ensure the continued effectiveness of Gripen C/D and its operational viability beyond 2030, according to Lars Tossman, head of Saab’s Aeronautics business area.
(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 25-Oct-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Saab has received an additional order from the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to ensure the continued operation and capability enhancement of Gripen C/D. The order is valued at SEK 579 million.
The additional order includes designing new development and simulation environments for Gripen C/D as well as developing new support systems that will facilitate the harmonisation of Gripen C/D and Gripen E for the Swedish customer. The order also includes supplementary orders for equipment and hardware.
