(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 17-Apr-2023 — /EuropaWire/ —  AkzoNobel (AKZA: AKZOY), pioneering a world of possibilities to bring surfaces to life for well over 200 years, announces that its Sikkens and Lesonal vehicle refinishes brands have launched a new generation of fillers designed to help bodyshops improve their productivity and lower their energy costs. The new products, Sikkens Autosurfacer Optima and Lesonal 2K Ultimate Filler, are fast-drying at ambient temperatures, infrared, and 60°C curing, making them one-stop, time- and cost-saving solutions that do not compromise on quality.

“Spiraling costs are among the biggest threats to bodyshops in the current economic climate,” explains Patrick Bourguignon, Director of AkzoNobel’s Automotive and Specialty Coatings business. “The new fillers have been developed to help our customers accelerate repair performance while tackling some of the major challenges they face.”

Continues Rob Lagendijk, Product Management Director for the Automotive and Specialty Coatings business: “In addition to the time and energy savings, less paint is needed for each repair – and there’s less waste from not having to sand off as much material – so it makes for much more sustainable repairs.”

By significantly reducing cycle times and freeing up space in the spray booth, the new products can help lower energy costs by up to 85%*. In combination with the one-stop application method, they can also shorten process times by up to 80%* when drying with infrared, enabling bodyshops to fit more jobs into a standard workday. Moreover, they provide enhanced corrosion protection, eliminating the need for time-consuming pre-treatment, and reducing the overall cost of repair.

AkzoNobel’s Sikkens and Lesonal brands are renowned worldwide for their quality and reliability. To learn more about the new generation of fillers, visit the Sikkens and Lesonal websites.
