Indra Enhances Flight Safety at Incheon Airport with Cutting-Edge Navigation Systems

(IN BRIEF) Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) has awarded a significant contract to Indra, further solidifying the company’s role in bolstering flight safety within the Republic of Korea. Indra is set to provide its advanced Normarc instrument landing systems (ILS), distance measuring equipment (DME), and DVOR radio navigation systems, all crucial components for ensuring safe aircraft navigation during the approach and landing phases. Incheon, renowned as Seoul’s primary airport and recently ranked as the world’s fourth-best airport by Skytrax, relies on Indra’s radars and air traffic management systems for overseeing all flight operations. With this new contract, all four runways at Incheon will incorporate Indra’s landing systems. Indra’s selection is attributed to its strong technical expertise in air navigation systems and its ability to meet the stringent quality and integrity standards required for CAT III operations (low-visibility conditions). South Korea has emerged as a strategically vital market for Indra, where its air traffic management and navigation systems contribute significantly to flight safety at airports and airbases across the nation.
