(PRESS RELEASE) DANDENONG SOUTH, Australia, 17-Nov-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — NORMA Group SE (ETR: NOEJ), a German manufacturer of machine joining components, has announced it will provide thousands of its COBRA clamps for the irrigation system of a 400-hectare vineyard in South Australia. The Company’s COBRA clamps are used at the connecting points between the drip tubes, thus contributing to the optimum irrigation of the vines and to increasing grape quality and yield.
“Water is one of the most precious resources on our planet. Every single drop counts for agricultural businesses, especially in dry and arid regions such as Australia,” said Dr. Michael Schneider, CEO of NORMA Group. “Our water management products help our customers to use this precious resource in an efficient, sustainable way.”
NORMA Group is equipping the approximately 1,400 km irrigation system with around 20,000 COBRA clamps. At the connection points the clamps prevent any undesirable leakage of water. The Chalk Hill Wines winery has been a NORMA Group customer for over 15 years and opted for the COBRA clamps on account of their high resilience and easy installation. Previously, the wine company had used plastic ratchet clips that were particularly vulnerable to weather and defects. As a result, water was lost at the connection points, and in consequence, having to replace the clips regularly, was both time- and cost-intensive. Switching to COBRA clamps minimized water loss and the number of repairs.
COBRA clamps, which were originally developed for use in the automotive sector are bolt-free, one-piece hose clamps that can be easily and quickly installed. Due to their small diameter, COBRA clamps can also be easily installed in the tightest of spaces.
