(PRESS RELEASE) ROME, 6-Dec-2023— /EuropaWire/ — Minister of Defence, Guido Crosetto, and Eni CEO, Claudio Descalzi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defence and Eni in Rome. The agreement strengthens strategic collaboration on security and risk assessment thanks to the share of expertise and information that can complement the two parties’ mutual knowledge gained in the various geopolitical areas of common interest.
The MoU refers to scenarios related to the protection of infrastructure and areas of strategic importance to national interest, joint activities to support local communities and the promotion of innovation with emphasis on new technologies as well as organizational, educational and training aspects.
Minister of Defence Guido Crosetto commented: “Today’s signing marks a significant step and strengthens the synergy between the Ministry of Defence and Eni, which has always been in place and will be in the future. I strongly pursued this agreement that will engage us in strategic security and innovation projects. This partnership represents a shared commitment to national defense and the well-being of local communities. Our goal is to build a secure and innovative future for Italy.”
Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi commented: “Today’s agreement strengthens the cooperation already in place and confirms the importance of public-private partnerships as an effective risk management tool to protect strategic activities and national economic and industrial initiatives.
