Germany’s OAL Subsea Pipeline Ready for Gas Feed-in After ABL’s Survey Completion

The pipeline, spanning 50 kilometers, connects the LNG terminal in Mukran to the German pipeline network in Lubmin, with plans to integrate green hydrogen in the future. ABL’s involvement ensured successful installation, with the pipeline ready for its first gas feed-in.

(PRESS RELEASE) HAMBURG, 13-Feb-2024 — /EuropaWire/ —  ABL Group (LON: 0QXF), a leading independent global energy and marine consultancy, working in energy and oceans to de-risk and drive the energy transition, proudly announces the successful completion of its marine warranty survey (MWS) scope for the Ostsee Anbindungsleitung (OAL) subsea pipeline project in Germany. The milestone marks a significant step forward as the project gears up for its first gas feed-in.

Commissioned by GASCADE Gastransport GmbH (GASCADE), ABL provided comprehensive MWS services to oversee the transportation and installation operations of the 50-kilometer-long, 48-inch subsea pipeline. The OAL pipeline links the planned LNG terminal in the port of Mukran to the German pipeline network in Lubmin, with future plans to integrate green hydrogen feed-ins via the Mukran entry point.

The recent completion of the above-water tie-in marks the conclusion of the subsea construction phase, achieved within a remarkably short timeframe.
