Georgia’s Food Alliance Flourishes with EBRD and EU Support

(IN BRIEF) Food Alliance, a Georgian frozen pastry producer, has received support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union (EU) through the EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line in Georgia since 2017. This assistance includes modern equipment, financing through the Bank of Georgia, incentive grants from the EU, and consulting services, enabling the company to thrive and supply seven tonnes of pastry daily to various establishments, contributing to Georgia’s diverse culinary offerings.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 24-Jan-2024— /EuropaWire/ — From Georgian khachapuri to French baguette, Food Alliance, a frozen pastry producer in Georgia, ensures that every day starts off on the right note. The company manufactures two types of bakery product: bread, mostly French, and pastry, both traditional Georgian and French. It supplies seven tonnes of pastry a day to restaurants, cafes, hotels and schools.

Food Alliance is one of over 300 companies that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the European Union (EU) have supported with modern equipment since 2017 under the EU4Business-EBRD Credit Line in Georgia. The company has accessed finance via Bank of Georgia, the EBRD’s partner financial institution, and received an incentive grant from the EU upon successful completion of its investment plan. Food Alliance also received consultanting services to further grow their business.
