PARIS, 21-10-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — On October 6th, the French and Italian industry and governmental team in charge of SAMP/T was awarded the « Technology Pioneer Award » by the US Missile Defence Agency, upon recommendation of an international panel of missile defence experts. The venue was the annual US BMD conference.
The award reckons the great achievement for the SAMP/T programme demonstrating its anti ballistic capabilities, during several live firings, culminating on March 6th, 2013, when a SAMP/T, connected to French, NATO and US assets, intercepted a target representative of a SCUD type TBM.
