BASF SE Announces New Executive Appointment and Departure

(IN BRIEF) BASF SE has appointed Dr. Stephan Kothrade, President of Intermediates, to its Board of Executive Directors, effective March 1, 2023. Kothrade has been with BASF since 1995 and has led the Intermediates division since 2022. The company has also announced the departure of Saori Dubourg, effective February 28, 2023, in mutual agreement, and thanks her for her successful work.

Dr. Stephan Kothrade, currently President of Intermediates, has been appointed to the Board of Executive Directors. Kothrade has been with BASF since 1995 and has led the Intermediates division since 2022. The company thanks Saori Dubourg for her contributions and announces her departure, effective February 28, 2023, in mutual agreement. The Supervisory Board wishes Dubourg continued success in her professional and private life.

Dr. Stephan Kothrade is a German chemist. He currently serves as the President of the Intermediates division of the company. Kothrade has been with BASF since 1995 and has held various leadership positions, including Senior Vice President of Plant Operations, Engineering & Infrastructure, and Managing Director of Nanjing Verbund Site in China. He holds a doctorate in Organic Chemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich.
