Barclays Appoints JB Patois as Head of Equity Derivatives for Asia Pacific

(IN BRIEF) Barclays has announced the appointment of Jean-Baptiste (JB) Patois as the Head of Equity Derivatives ex-Strategic Derivatives, Asia Pacific, based in Hong Kong. In this role, Mr. Patois will lead the Exotics and Flow Derivatives teams. He will report regionally to Hossein Zaimi, Head of Markets, APAC, and functionally to Ashish Prabhudesai, Global Head of Structured Derivatives and non-US Flow. JB Patois brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in equity derivatives, having held key positions at financial institutions such as Nomura, Credit Suisse, and Société Générale across various global markets. This appointment reflects Barclays’ commitment to strengthening its Equity Derivatives business in the APAC region and delivering exceptional results for clients. Ashish Prabhudesai emphasized JB’s exceptional track record and industry expertise, which will be instrumental in expanding the bank’s global derivatives business in the region.

(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 21-Nov-2023 — /EuropaWire/ — Barclays today announced the appointment of Jean-Baptiste (JB) Patois as Head of Equity Derivatives ex-Strategic Derivatives, Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Patois will be responsible for leading Exotics and Flow Derivatives. He will report regionally to Hossein Zaimi, Head of Markets, APAC, and functionally to Ashish Prabhudesai, Global Head of Structured Derivatives and non-US Flow.

JB joins Barclays with a dynamic career in equity derivatives, having accumulated a wealth of knowledge and expertise over the years across several markets. He was most recently at Nomura in Hong Kong and led their Asia equity derivatives trading team. Prior to this, he was at Credit Suisse where he held a number of senior roles running their equity derivatives business across the region. Before relocating to Hong Kong in 2008, JB was with Société Générale in New York, Paris and Tokyo.
