Twenergy.com, Endesa’s website for promoting energy efficiency and responsible energy consumption, has now reached over 11.4 million visits

MADRID, 17-8-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Twenergy (www.twenergy.com), Endesa’s website for promoting energy efficiency and responsible energy consumption, is five years old and has now reached over 11.4 million visits. It has become established as the first worldwide online community in this field.

Twenergy’s success is clearly reflected in the number of registered users: 48,127 in the first half of 2015, an increase of 4% over the close of 2014; in the popularity of the community in social networks exceeding 100,000 followers, a growth of 25% in Twitter and 13% in Facebook over the first half of this year; and in the increase of 10% in the number of visits compared to the second half of 2014.

Since launching the site in 2010, Endesa has been bringing energy saving ideas to people interested in sustainability. It continues to look for innovative ways of transmitting this message. This is exactly what it has done by the recent launch of its new online shop (http://tienda.twenergy.com) where it is offering traditional efficient products such as LED lamps or electric bicycles and more innovative products such as ionic brushes, electric unicycles and water saving systems for the domestic shower.

Also in line with its commitment to encourage responsible behaviour toward the environment, a new edition of Proyectos Solidarios (Charity Projects) was launched last May (http://twenergy.com/comunidad/proyectos-solidarios). This is an initiative in which five NGOs compete for online votes to obtain finance worth 6,000 euros for their efficiency and sustainability projects in the poorest areas of the world.

In an example of one of their future initiatives, Twenergy will launch a mobile application in September to provide personalised information to people wishing to improve their behaviour and their commitment to preserve the planet.
