MILAN, 26-1-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — The Salini Impregilo group in Nigeria has been awarded a contract for the dualisation of the carriageway of the Suleja Minna (Phase II) road in Nigeria. This arterial road is of prime importance since it connects the capital of Abuja to the northwest region.
The project’s function is to improve urban mobility and to facilitate the potential development of the region.
The contract includes the construction, in 48 months, of a new road between km 60 and km 101 and the complete rehabilitation of the existing road from km 0 to km 101. The client is the Ministry of Public Works of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Salini Impregilo group is already engaged in the construction of Phase I of the Suleja Minna road which has now reached 70% completion.
The award of this new contract represents the target set at the time of the award of Phase I allowing the group to participate in the current transformation of Nigeria’s road sector and to continue and intensify its activities in the country, one of the largest of the African continent.
