Culture Connects, the (Inter)National Culture Programme of the Irish Presidency, will be launched in January. It offers a wide and varied programme of activity inside and outside Ireland, engaging new and established Irish artists in Europe and beyond, as well as European artists in Ireland.
22-1-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — The programme will include around 300 events, including at least one in every EU country. We’re starting with a concert in Brussels on 8 January to celebrate the Irish Presidency, featuring virtuoso Irish performers The Gloaming, which you can follow live on this Presidency website.
For a preview of Culture Connects, watch this promotional video which was specially commissioned from Alan Gilsenan, the award-winning writer, director and filmmaker. Alan’s most recent work includes the documentaries “The Yellow Bittern: the Life and Time of Liam Clancy”, and “Masterpiece: Ireland’s Favourite Painting”. In the New Year, look out for more information on eu2013.ie on the (Inter)National Culture Programme of the Irish Presidency, including the concert by The Gloaming and the Irish installation for the Justus Lipsius building in Brussels, as well as the full programme of events here in Ireland.”
