Brussels, 1-4-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — Catherine Ashton, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission, issued the following statement today:
“Tomorrow I will host and support the 8th round of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. In the six months since the Prime Ministers first met in my office, I have seen the commitment and determination on both sides to reach an agreement. I pay tribute to all those – from government and opposition parties – who have supported them this far, and trust in their support for tomorrow. I
believe an agreement is within reach – though it will not be easy. But when we began we all knew this would be difficult and would require strong political leadership. I believe those coming tomorrow do so in the spirit of finding a solution in the best interests of the people they represent and to help offer a better future for them all. We must not let this opportunity pass. I look forward
to welcoming them tomorrow morning and wish them well.”
